Emma Jane Francis

She was born in Bristol Road, Bridgewater in Bridgewater registration district and sub district in the county of Somerset on 15th January 1870. Her father was Thomas Francis and her mother was Elizabeth Francis, formerly Kertion. She registered her birth on 1st February 1870.

She married Albert Gabriel Stone on 23rd April 1894 at the Wesleyan Chapel, Shepton Mallet. (GRO Ref 5c 849). He was aged 24 and a baker from West Shepton, Shepton Mallet. His father was Philip Alfred Stone, a labourer. She was 24 from Bath Road, Bridgewater. Her father was Thomas Francis, an engine driver. The two witnesses were Philip Alfred Stone, his father and Margaret Elizabeth Stone, his sister.

In Shepton Mallet, had daughter Margaret Elizabeth Adlam (born 21st July 1895), son Ernest Philip Alfred (born 1st July 1896), son Stanley Charles (born 1st November 1897), son Albert Clifford (born Q1 1899), and daughter Ethel Gladys (born 24th January 1900).

Left Shepton Mallet when flour dust from Albert's  Baker occupation caused chest problems. He then became an ostler at Miskin, Mountain Ash.

There had daughter Victoria Maude (born 1st May 1901), son Clarence (Clar) Thomas (born 17 Feb 1906), daughter Winifred, son John (Jack) William, son Idris (Id) Brinley (born 13th March 1908) and son Reginald Stone (born 1910).

Moved to Tidenham on doctor's advice to allow Emma Jane to recover from grief over the death of their young son, Reginald, who died aged 10.

She died, aged 69, on 25th March 1938 at 8 Princes Street, the home of Arthur Thomas Mudford, her son in law. Her occupation is given as Widow of Albert Gabriel Stone, Market Gardener of Bough Spring Cottage, The Chase, Tidenham, Chepstow R.D. Cause of death was Carcinoma of the Liver. The death was registered by Arthur Thomas Mudford, her son in law on 25th March 1938 in the sub district of Barry in the Registration district of East Glamorgan in the County of Glamorgan.
