Mr. G. R. Butt

The funeral took place on Thursday last at Evercreech Parish Church of Mr. George Reginald Butt, of 12,Southwood, Evercreech, who died the previous Sunday aged 64. He worked for some time for a case works at Bruton and later at the Evercreech brick works.

For 18 years he worked on the road roller for Barnes Bros. of Trowbridge and for the last five years was employed as a case repairer at Messes. Showerings.

He married Miss A. Witridge at Cranmore Parish in 1930 and had been living at Southwood for the past 11 years. He leaves a wife and one daughter.

The funeral service was conducted by the Vicar of Evercreech, the Rev. A.C.I. Selliack.

Butt (BK 823) (also representing his wife and Mr. S. Clarke (nephews); Mrs. S. Harwood (also representing her husband) (friend); Mrs. C. Cable was unable to attend.

At the church were Mrs. Carpenter, Mrs. R. Bailey, Mrs H. Cox (representing Mr. H. Cox and John and Mr. and Mrs. Harwood), Mr. M. AIllen (representing Mrs. Allen), Mr. F. Clark, Mr. C. Adam (representing Showerings factory staff) , Mr. King (representing C.R. Society).
