Margaret Walters was born 17 April 1865 at Waunystradfynis, Llangadock in the county of Carmarthen according to her birth certificate. Her father, David Walters is listed as a labourer. He registered her birth on 4 May 1865. Her mother is given as Elizabeth Walters, formerly Lewis. At this point they were newly weds because John Evans and Margaret Walters were married on 21 February 1891 in Zoar Chapel, Merthyr Tydfil, (GRO reference number 11a 882). He was 24 years old, a coalminer from 52 Nightingale Street, Abercanaid. His father was Evan Evans, a coalminer. She was 25 years old from 42 Nightingale Street, Abercanaid. Her father was David Walters, a colliery repairer. The witnesses were Evan Evans (who made his mark) and David Walters.

Mum remembers Sarah Jane Walters (Boppa Jane) who had married an insurance agent named Thomas. Mum used to be paid a penny each Saturday by Mary Price to deliver her weekly premium payment to Mr. Thomas and he paid her a penny as well. She was the mother of Harold Thomas.
Bessie Walters was the mother of Florrie and Vi Griffiths as remembered by my mum.
Margaret died at "Trigfan", Chapel Street, Abercanaid on 9th June 1934 as written on her gravestone in Cefn Cemetery (on hill over other side of cemetery near the trees).
